Mary B. Wood, widow of George Wood, died at the Mary Hitchcock hospital early Friday, March 19, as the result of a broken hip. She was born in West Lebanon on February 7, 1867, the daughter of John K. and Ellen Colby Butman. In 1891 she was united in marriage with George Wood who died about 15 years ago. They had one son, Paul Gerrish Wood who died January 7, 1913.
She is survived by an adopted daughter, Marion McNeil, two grandsons, Charles and Paul Frye, a niece, several nephews and a number of cousins.
Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock in the Congregational church, Rev. Carl L Sullenberger officiating.
The bearers were Joseph Wood, Ross Wood, Charles A Bacon, Earl Colby, Burton Shepard and Robert Renehan
Interment was in the local cemetery.4
