Hon. Isaac Royall1

     Of Medford, Massachusetts, He was Representative to the General Court, and for twenty-two years a member of the Council. In 1774 he was appointed Councillor, under the writ of Mandamus; but was one of the twenty-six who were not sworn into office. He went to England in 1776, and was proscribed and banished in 1778.2 Hon. Isaac Royall died in October 1781 in England. He bequeathed upwards of two thousand acres of land in Worcester County to found the first Law Professorship of Harvard University, and his bequests for other purposes were numerous and liberal.2

Katherine Roët, married firstly Sir Hugh Swynford before 1367 at St. Clement Danes, Strand, London.1 Katherine Roët, married secondly John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster, son of King Edward III, and Philippa of Hainault, The issue of this marriage, all surnamed Beaufort after their father's French lordship, were all born before their parents were united in wedlock; they were legitimated by the Pope on 1 September, 1396, and also by charter of Richard II on 9 February, 1397, but this same charter also excluded them from the succession.1 Katherine Roët, died on 10 May 1403.
