Sarah's father-in-law was the founder of the Freewill Baptist church. She was reportedly a circuit rider for the church. Her father, Josiah, threw her out of the house when she converted, but later relented and was himself converted along with all of his family.4

Benjamin Wilson Randall, on 29 October 1801 at New Durham, New Hampshire.2 Stephen Parsons died on 7 April 1862 in Edgecomb at the age of 84.2

Stephen was a farmer and built the first grist and carding mills in Edgecomb; he surveyed and mapped Jeremysquam Island before the appointment of land titles there in 1815; he was the town's first representative to the new Maine legislature after separation from Massachusetts and was responsible for Massachusetts being called a state instead of commonwealth because the shorter word would save writing and printing time and expense.2
