     Edward Jackson was born on 26 February 1707/8 in Boston, Massachusetts.2 He was the son of Jonathan Jackson and Mary Salter.2 Edward Jackson graduated in 1726 from Harvard.1 He. He was a brazier by trade and carried on the mills of his father, he was aslo engaged in commerce and ship-building. He held the town offices of Constable and of Purchaser of Grain.3 He married Dorothy Quincy, daughter of Edmund "The Subscriber" Quincy and Dorothy Flynt, on 7 December 1738 in Boston, the service was conducted by Rev. John Webb.1,4,5 Edward Jackson died in June 1757 in Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of 49.2

Dr. James Jackson1

     Dr. James Jackson was born on 3 October 1777 in Newburyport.2 He was the son of Hon. Jonathan Jackson and Hannah Tracy.1 He was fitted for college at Dummer Academy. After graduating from Harvard he studied medicine under instruction of Dr. Edward Augustus Holyoke of Salem, from 1797 to 1799. He was admitted into the Massachusetts Medical Society in 1802. In 1805 he was appointed with Dr. John Collins Warren to prepare a Pharmacopoeia for the Massachusetts Medical Society, which was published in 1808. In 1812 he was appointed Professor of the Theory and Practice of Medicine in the Cambridge Medical School; retained this office until 1886, when he became Emeritus Professor. He was a physician to the Massachusetts General Hospital, of which he was one of the founders, and was several times elected to the presidency of the Massachusetts Medical Society. His contributions to medical literature were exceedingly valuable, and were noticed by medical societies at home and abroad with high commendation.2 Dr. James Jackson married firstly Elizabeth Cabot, daughter of Andrew Cabot and Lydia Dodge, on 2 October 1801 in Beverly.3 Dr. James Jackson married secondly Sarah Cabot, daughter of Andrew Cabot and Lydia Dodge, on 24 December 1818 in Boston, Massachusetts.2 Dr. James Jackson died on 27 August 1867 in Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of 89.3
