He is survived by two children, Donald J. (Helen) Douglass of San Antonio, Texas and Marylee (Robert) Browning of Corpus Christi, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.5

He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Some of his happiest times were spent with his family and friends at his camp on Harrow Lake. John was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Helen (Culberson) Dow; and a brother, Wilmot. He is survived by a sister, Margaret Melgard of Washington Pond; his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and David Ballard of Ellsworth; his son and daughter-in-law, David Dow and Beverly Wood of Grand Falls, N.B; several grandchildren and great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle.
