     Sarah Ann Sewall was born circa 1828.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Sewall and Betsey Whitney.¹

     Sarah Arabella Sewall was born on 16 September 1849 in Abington, Massachusetts.¹ She was the daughter of Dummer Sewall and Mary Savory Cook.¹ Sarah Arabella Sewall married William H. Tirrell on 1 May 1867.²

     Sarah E. Sewall was born on 12 July 1828 in Farmington, Franklin County, Maine.³ She was the daughter of Levi Sewall and Rebecca Alexander.¹ In 1870 she was appointed postmistress of Island Falls; she had been a school teacher before then. In the 1880 Census she is a housekeeper at her brother William's hotel.^1,4 Sarah E. Sewall died on 7 May 1901 in Island Falls at the age of 72, unmarried.⁵

     Sarah E. Sewall was born in October 1869 in New York.² She was the daughter of Henry Devereaux Sewall and Maria C. (Unknown).¹ Sarah E. Sewall married Stewart Travis circa 1897.² Sarah E. Sewall and Stewart Travis appear on the census of 1900 at Midland, New Jersey, where they are staying with her parents. His occupation is given as artist (illustrator).²

     Sarah Elizabeth Sewall was born on 24 January 1884 in Marlin, Texas.² She was the daughter of Krouse Sewall and Frances Ann Bates.¹ Sarah Elizabeth Sewall married Dr. Harry G. Hamblen on 28 March 1906 in the Presbyterian Church, Marlin, Texas.^3,2 Sarah Elizabeth Sewall died on 20 December 1971 in Conroe, Montgomery County, Texas, at the age of 87.⁴

     Sarah Ella (Sallie) Sewall was born on 6 January 1886 in Houston, Texas.² She was the daughter of Edward Wailes Sewall and Gabriella Harriet (Ella) Campbell.¹ Sarah Ella (Sallie) Sewall married George Frederick Jr. Horton, son of George Horton and Albertina Kaapke, on 27 November 1906 in Houston, Texas.^1,3 Sarah Ella (Sallie) Sewall died on 7 September 1940 in Hermann Hospital, Houston, Texas, at the age of 54.² She was buried on 8 September 1940 in San Antonio, Texas.²

     Sarah Frances Sewall was born circa 26 April 1833.² She was the daughter of Rufus Sewall and Frances E. Farrell.¹ Sarah Frances Sewall died on 30 September 1859 in Shreveport, Louisiana, "aged 26 y'rs. 5 mo. & 4 d's."²

     Sarah Hannah Sewall was born on 1 March 1850.¹ She was the daughter of William Harmon Sewall and Lydia Jane Moore.¹ Sarah Hannah Sewall died on 20 March 1899 at the age of 49.¹

     Sarah Jane Sewall was born on 30 January 1817 in Chesterville, Franklin County, Maine.¹ She was the daughter of Dummer Sewall and Sarah or Sally Mirrick.¹

     Sarah Stewart Sewall was born on 18 January 1867 in Clarke County, Alabama, (McMahon giving the month as February).^2,3 She was the daughter of Dr. Francis Lewis Sewall and Ann Amelia DuBose.¹ Sarah Stewart Sewall married Powhatan Ambrose Bryant on 25 July 1888 in Ocala, Florida.³ Sarah Stewart Sewall died on 29 August 1946 in Warrensburg, Missouri, at the age of 79.³

     Sawyer Sewall was born on 16 October 1799 or 23 October 1799 in Georgetown.² He was the son of Theodore Sewall and Olive Beal.¹ Sawyer Sewall married Patience M. Tarbox before 1 April 1822 in Edgecomb, Maine.³

     Seaborn Cutler Sewall was born on 16 March 1850 in Rockport, Massachusetts.² He was the son of Joseph Lambard Sewall and Sarah L. Goodwin.¹ Seaborn Cutler Sewall died on 28 May 1852 at the age of 2.¹

      Stevedore of Liscomb's Lane, Bangor, Maine.² Silas F. Sewall was born on 1 June 1823.¹ He was the son of John Sewall and Cynthia A. Fickett.¹ Silas F. Sewall married Elmira Stevens on 29 September 1844 in Bangor, Maine.³ Silas F. Sewall died in October 1856 at the age of 33.

     Simon Merrill Sewall is also recorded as Merrill Sewall. He was born on 14 July 1820 in Edgecomb, Maine.² He was the son of Rufus K. Sewall and Phoebe Merrill.¹ Simon Merrill Sewall appears on the census of 1850 at Edgecomb, Lincoln County, Maine, listed as a mariner.³ He married Mary Wilson Sanford Mitchell, daughter of John S. Mitchell and Philenia Sewall, on 2 August 1854 in Gardiner, Kennebec, Maine.⁴ Simon Merrill Sewall died on 12 October 1895 in Dorchester, Massachusetts, at the age of 75 on his way to his southern home in Beaufort, South Carolina. He died of fatty degeneration of the heart. The report in the Boston Daily Advertiser says that he died at the home of his niece, Mrs. Jean de Peiffer.^5,6

     Singleton Campbell Sewall was born on 18 November 1887 in Texas.^1,2 He was the son of Edward Wailes Sewall and Gabriella Harriet (Ella) Campbell.¹ Singleton Campbell Sewall is recorded as Campbell Sewall on the census.³ He died on 19 November 1950 in Houston, Texas, at the age of 63 also as Campbell Sewall on the death record.⁴ He was buried on 20 November 1950 in Houston, Texas.⁴

     Solomon Roberts [Robards] Sewall was born on 20 October 1846 in Rockport, Massachusetts.^1,3 He was the son of Levi Sewall and Mary Ann Robards.² Solomon Roberts [Robards] Sewall died on 28 October 1850 at the age of 4 of croup.^4,5

     Somers Sewall was born on 14 June 1843 in Mobile, Alabama.¹ He was the son of Kiah Bayley Sewall and Lucretia Day.¹ Somers Sewall died on 7 December 1867 in Portland, Maine, at the age of 24.²

     Sophia Sewall was the daughter of Major Nicholas Sewall and Susanna Burgess.¹ On 13 November 1738 Sophia inherited from her father 1,000 acres of land on the Choptank River called Lady's Gift or Sewells Range, of which she and her husband sold half. Sophia Sewall married John Cooke.¹ Sophia Sewall and John Cooke was living in Graiden, Prince George's County, Maryland.²

     Sophia Sewall was born on 16 May 1788 in Hallowell, Maine.² She was the daughter of Moses Sewall and Ruth Barrell.¹ Sophia Sewall married firstly Hartley Wood, son of Gen. Abiel Wood and Elizabeth Tinkham, on 18 July 1808 in Hallowell.² Sophia Sewall married secondly Edmund Munroe, son of Colonel William Munroe and Anna Smith, on 31 August 1815 in Hallowell as his third wife.² Sophia Sewall died on 26 October 1878 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at the age of 90.^3,4

     Spencer K. Sewall. Horticulturalist.³ He was born circa 1849 in Rhode Island as do all the early census, though the 1900 census gives August 1848 in Massachusetts.^2,4 He was the son of Gilbert Tennant Sewall and Abbie W. Riley.^1,2 Spencer K. Sewall married firstly Alice Fisher Wiggin, daughter of C.W. Wiggin, on 2 September 1874 in Dover, New Hampshire.⁵ Spencer K. Sewall and Alice Fisher Wiggin appear on the census of 1880 at San Gabriel, California, where his occupation is given as an horticulturalist. They employ several Chinese as labourers.¹ Spencer K. Sewall married secondly Mary J. (Unknown) circa 1892.⁶ Spencer K. Sewall and Mary J. (Unknown) appear on the census of 1900 at Pasadena, Los Angeles, California.⁴ Spencer K. Sewall died circa 26 September 1915 in California.⁷

     Spencer Waldron Sewall was born on 31 August 1889 in Santa Ana, California.² He was the son of Gilbert Tennant Sewall and Lutie Bell Greenleaf.¹ Spencer Waldron Sewall married Eunice May (Unknown) circa 1916 they probably had no issue as none appear in either the 1920 or 1930 census.³ In 1917 he was a divisional electrician, Southern Pacific Company, Bakersfield.² Spencer Waldron Sewall died on 18 April 1976 in Kern, California, at the age of 86.⁴

     Stanley Darke Sewall was born in September 1939.² He was the son of George Norman Sewall and Bertine M. Darke.¹

     Stephen Sewall was born on 14 December 1702 in Salem (McKeough has 12 Dec 1702; Titcomb has 18 Dec 1704 as does the Encyclopedia of American Biography).¹ He was the son of Major Stephen Sewall and Margaret Mitchell. Stephen Sewall was baptised on 20 December 1702 by Rev. W. Noyes.² He graduated in 1721 from Harvard.¹ Between 1726 and 1739 he was a Librarian and tutor. Achieved such renown for his knowledge of the law gained through private study that he was appointed a justice of the Superior Court in 1739 at Harvard.³ He was a last Attorney General of the Province of Mass. before the Revolution. (Memo on the McClellan Family tree has him as Attorney General of Canada).² He was appointed in 1752, Chief Justice of the Province of Mass., and served in that capacity and as a member of the council for the rest of his life.

Of his years as a judge, one colleague wrote, "Quickness of apprehension and a capacity to look thoroughly into a subject were united in him in the highest degree I ever saw in any of my acquaintances." Of his general temperament, another biographer commented, "His donations to the poor were very frequent and liberal...more than he could well afford; for the salaries of the judges were then quite small ... he must have been a great economist ..."⁴ He died on 10 September 1760 in at his residence, Boston, at the age of 57 "dies estate insolvent"; "died bankrupt, probably through involvement in his brother's (Jonathan) speculations" according to a letter written by President John Adams. Died a bachelor.^2,5

     Stephen Sewall was born on 18 August 1708 in Newbury, Massachusetts.¹ He was the son of Henry Sewall and Elizabeth Titcomb. Stephen Sewall graduated in June 1731 from Harvard B.A.² He was a schoolmaster "an eminent teacher of youth" at Newbury.^3,4 He married Ann Little, daughter of Tristram Little and Anne Emery, on 27 December 1739 in Newbury, Massachusetts, however she is listed in the VRs as Mrs Ann Little.^3,5 Stephen Sewall died on 18 September 1795 in Newburyport, Massachusetts, at the age of 87.^3,6

Moses Sewall and Miriam Stone.^1,2 Stephen Sewall married Abigail Bartlett, daughter of John Heard Bartlett and Dorcas Moulton, on 21 April 1788 in Second Parish Church, Kittery, Maine.³ Stephen Sewall died on 28 March 1796 in Bath, Maine, at the age of 31.⁴

Mr. Willard baptiseth my Son, whom I named Stephen."² He died on 26 July 1687 "About Nine aclock my dear Son Stephen Sewall expires, just after the Judges coming to Town; died in his Grandmother's Bed-Chamber in Nurse Hill's Arms. Had two teeth cut, no Convulsions."³ He was buried on 27 July 1687 "Between 6. and 7. after Noon."³
