     Elizabeth Greenleaf was born in 1765.² She was the daughter of Hon. Benjamin Greenleaf and Elizabeth Chauncy.¹ Elizabeth Greenleaf married Chief Justice Theophilus Parsons on 13 January 1780 in Newburyport, Massachusetts.³ Elizabeth Greenleaf died in 1829.²

     Chief Justice Theophilus Parsons was born on 24 February 1750 in Byfield, Massachusetts.² He graduated in 1769 from Harvard.² He married Elizabeth Greenleaf, daughter of Hon. Benjamin Greenleaf and Elizabeth Chauncy, on 13 January 1780 in Newburyport, Massachusetts.³ Chief Justice Theophilus Parsons died on 30 October 1813 in Pearl Street, Boston, at the age of 63.

     Robert Boyd married Hannah Greenleaf, daughter of Hon. Benjamin Greenleaf and Elizabeth Chauncy, on 22 September 1807 in Newburyport, Essex County, Massachusetts.¹

     The marriage of Edith Mary Preston and Vice-Admiral Orford Churchill R.N. was registered in the quarter ending December 1872 in the New Forest Registration District.¹

     Sub-Lt. John Preston Churchill's birth was registered in the quarter ending December 1883 in the Dorchester, Dorset registration district.¹ He was the son of Vice-Admiral Orford Churchill R.N. and Edith Mary Preston.¹ John Churchil became a midshipman on 15 January 1899, and was promoted to be a sub-lieutenant on 15 September 1902. He held first class certificates in seamanship, navigation, pilotage, gunnery, and torpedo and his commission in the Thames "for course of instruction in submarine boats bore date of 1 January [1904].² Sub-Lt. John Preston Churchill drowned on 18 March 1904 off the Nab at the age of 20 taking part in fleet excercises with Submarine HMS/M A1 which was run down and sunk by the SS Berwick Castle at about 3 p.m., a total of eleven people lost their lives. He has the unenviable title of being the first of his rank to die in a submarine.^1,2

     Julia Charlotte Mackenzie Gordon was the daughter of Sir Orford Gordon.¹ Julia Charlotte Mackenzie Gordon married Rev. William Churchill in 1839 in Bath.^1,2

     Sir Basil Shillito Cave K.C.M.G., C.B. was the son of Thomas Cave.² Sir Basil Shillito Cave K.C.M.G., C.B. married Mary Creighton McClellan, daughter of Rev. John Brown McClellan and Emily Elliott Pierce, on 19 February 1892 at the British Consulate and afterwards at the Cathedral in Zanzibar.² Sir Basil Shillito Cave K.C.M.G., C.B. died in 1931.¹

     Kenneth McClellan Cave was born on 16 August 1893 in Zanzibar.¹ He was the son of Sir Basil Shillito Cave K.C.M.G., C.B. and Mary Creighton McClellan.¹

     Andrew Chauncy was born on 23 November 1774.² He was the son of Charles Chauncy and Joanna Gerrish.¹

     Eliza Chauncy Clarke was the daughter of Jeremiah Clarke and Elizabeth Hirst Chauncy.¹ Eliza Chauncy Clarke married Lieut. John Porter U.S.N..¹

     Fitz John Porter was born on 31 August 1822.¹ He was the son of Lieut. John Porter U.S.N. and Eliza Chauncy Clarke.¹ Fitz John Porter was christened on 21 January 1825 at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.¹

     Lucia Chauncey Porter was born in April 1816.¹ She was the daughter of Lieut. John Porter U.S.N. and Eliza Chauncy Clarke.¹ Lucia Chauncey Porter was christened on 4 November 1820 at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.¹

     David St. Leon Porter was born on 9 August 1824.¹ He was the son of Lieut. John Porter U.S.N. and Eliza Chauncy Clarke.¹ David St. Leon Porter was christened on 21 January 1825 at Portsmouth, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.¹

     Charles Chauncy Parsons was born on 8 April 1782 in Newburyport, Massachusetts.² He was the son of Chief Justice Theophilus Parsons and Elizabeth Greenleaf.¹ Charles Chauncy Parsons married Judith Parsons on 16 November 1809 in Gloucester, Massachusetts.³ Charles Chauncy Parsons died on 25 March 1851 in Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of 68.⁴
