     Hon. David Sewall was born on 7 October 1735 in York, Maine.^1,2,3 He was the son of Capt. Samuel Sewall and Sarah Batchelder. He graduated from Harvard, Bachelor of Arts, 1755, and Master of Arts July 1758; ranked tenth in a class of twenty-five. Studied law with Judge William Parker of Portsmouth, New Hampshire (whose daughter it was that he later married) and was admitted to the bar at the Superior Court of the Massachusets Bay at York in the June term 1763. Practiced in York where he was the only college-educated lawyer in the county. He was collector of excise for York County, and on 28 May 1766 was appointed Register for the probate of wills for York county; appointed Justice of the Peace, 4 November 1767 and sworn into office 6 January 1768. He was councillor for the Province of Maine, 1766-77; justice of the Supreme Court of the State of Massachusetts, 1777-81, and judge of the Supreme judicial court, 1781-89. He was an elector at large for Massachusetts in 1789, and was judge for the U.S. District Court of Maine, 1789-1817. The honorary degree of LL.D. was conferred on him by Bowdoin College in 1812. He was a member of the Massachusetts Historical society; a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a trustee of Bowdoin College, 1794-1815.¹ Hon. David Sewall married firstly Mary Parker, daughter of Hon. William Parker and Elizabeth Grafton, on 17 December 1762 at Portsmouth, New Hampshire.⁴ Hon. David Sewall married secondly Elizabeth Langdon, daughter of Rev. Dr. Samuel Langdon and Elizabeth Brown, on 2 November 1790 at Hampton Falls, New Hampshire.⁵ Hon. David Sewall retired from public life in 1818.⁶ He died on 21 October 1825 in York, Maine, at the age of 90 s.p. or 22 October according to his gravestone in Old York Cemetery.^3,7,8

     David Alexander Sewall. Lumberman.³ He was born on 10 July 1825 in Phippsburg, Sagadahoc, Maine.^3,4 He was the son of Levi Sewall and Rebecca Alexander.¹ David Alexander Sewall married Harriet Putnam Coburn on 7 July 1861.² David Alexander Sewall and Harriet Putnam Coburn appear on the census of 1900 at Island Falls, Maine, with two daughters Alice and Mary, both single, a niece Alice Brown and a boarder.⁵ David Alexander Sewall died on 12 April 1906 or 12 April 1907 in Island Falls, Maine.^3,2

     David Alexander Sewall was born on 3 November 1870 in Island Falls, Maine.¹ He was the son of David Alexander Sewall and Harriet Putnam Coburn.¹ David Alexander Sewall died on 4 December 1874 in Island Falls ? at the age of 4.^1,2

     Rev. David Brainerd Sewall was born on 18 January 1817 in Chesterville, Franklin County, Maine.^3,1 He was the son of Rev. Jotham Sewall and Rachel Crosby Bradbury.² He was prepared for college at Lincoln Academy. After graduation he was for two years the first principal of Lewiston Falls Academy. He then entered Bangor Theological Seminary and on completing the course was ordained as pastor of the Congregational Church at Robbinston, Maine 19th January 1842. His pastorate there of seventeen years was followed by one of fourteen year at Fryeburg, and by a third of fifteen years at York. Retiring from the active duties of the ministry he settled in 1888 at South Berwick, where the remainder of his life was spent.⁴ Rev. David Brainerd Sewall married Mary Drummond, daughter of James Drummond and Jane Little, on 6 January 1842 in Bangor, Penobscot, Maine.^3,5 Rev. David Brainerd Sewall died on 13 January 1907 in South Berwick, Maine, at the age of 89 of bronchitis.^3,6 He was buried in First Parish Cemetery of York, Maine.⁶

     David Clinton Sewall was born on 26 May 1909 in York, Maine.² He was the son of Paul Clinton Sewall and Nellie Duncan.¹ David Clinton Sewall died on 15 February 1968 in York, Maine, at the age of 58.^2,3 He was buried in First Parish Cemetery of York, Maine.²

     David Henry Sewall was born on 28 September 1850 in Maine.^2,3 He was the son of David Sewall and Mary Celeste Eldridge.¹ David Henry Sewall married Josephine Robson, daughter of Elizabeth (Unknown), on 2 February 1884 in San Francisco, California, the service was conducted by the Rev. F.F. Jewell, D.D. In the notice of the marriage the bride is descibed as "of Colma, San Mateo county."⁴

A Dinner to D. H. Sewall.

On last Thursday evening, at the closing of the factories for the season of 1893, a banquet was tendered to D. H. Sewall, superintendent of A. Lusk & Co.'s canneries, by the heads of the different departments. The banquet was given to Mr. Sewall in honor of the great success achieved at the Columbian Exposition by the exhibit of this company, they having received the highest awards in the different competitive departments as against the world. The five medals and diplomas of highest awards received by A. Lusk & Co. were largely due to the originality, zeal and artistic taste of Mr. Sewall, who labored over a year in the preparation of the exhibit and personally superintended its installation a Chicago. Mr. Sewall was warmly congratulated and toasted by all present, among whom were the different officers of the company, who joined with the others in recognizing substantially the credit due Mr. Sewall in his effective work at Chicago. During the evening telegrams of congratulation were received from different officials at Chicago, among them being one from Mr. Samuels, chief of the department of horticulture. David Henry Sewall and Josephine Robson appear on the census of 1920 at Redwood, California, recorded as lodgers in the house of a George N. Tyler.⁶ David Henry Sewall died after 1920.

     David Jewett Sewall was born on 10 July 1842 in Rockport, Essex County, Massachusetts.^3,4 He was the son of Levi Sewall and Mary Ann Robards.² David Jewett Sewall married Josephine Perkins Crouse, daughter of Jacob Crouse and Abbie Banks, on 16 October 1866 in Rockport, Massachusetts.⁵ David Jewett Sewall died on 22 April 1888 in the City Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of 45 from injuries received by a fall about a year previously when he fell over a defective sidewalk on Arcadia street, and broke his left wrist; about six months after, the wrist became swollen, and upon the advice of his attending physician he was moved to the city hospital, and a portion of the forearm was removed. The patient sank rapidly under the operation, and blood poisoning soon followed. He is described in the newspaper obituary as a well known druggist of Dorchester.^3,6

     David Sewall Jr. was born circa 1847.¹ He was the son of David Sewall and Louisa Augusta Stephens.¹

     David Parker Sewall was born on 25 August 1889 in Minnesota.^1,2 He was the son of George Mitchell Sewall and Etta Maria Parker.¹

     David Westgate Sewall was born on 8 April 1929 in Boston, Massachusetts, at 12.29 p.m.¹ He was the son of Reginald David Sewall and Marion Florence Peters.¹ David Westgate Sewall died on 23 June 2000 probably in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 71.²

     Deborah Sewall was born on 5 December 1786 in Chesterville, Franklin County, Maine.³ She was the daughter of Dummer Sewall and Jenny Dunning.² Deborah Sewall married Barnabas Palmer Merrick on 22 February 1807 in Chesterville, Franklin County, Maine, (transcribed as Barnabus Mirrick).³ Deborah Sewall died on 27 December 1851 at the age of 65.⁴

     Deborah Sewall was born on 10 December 1776 in Bath or Georgetown, Sagadahoc, Maine.² She was the daughter of Colonel Dummer Sewall and Mary Dunning.¹ Deborah Sewall was baptised on 7 May 1777 at Phippsburg, Maine.¹ She died in September 1778 at the age of 1.¹

     Diantha Sewall was born circa 1836.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Sewall and Betsey Whitney.¹

     Donald Kinsley Sewall was born on 1 June 1940.² He was the son of Norman Kinsley Sewall and Addie Belle Couch.¹ Donald Kinsley Sewall died on 8 March 2002 at the age of 61.²

     Donald Swanton Sewall was born on 28 October 1890 in Bath, Maine.³ He was the son of Mark Warren Sewall and Rachel F. Thompson.² Donald Swanton Sewall graduated from Bowdoin College.² On 13 June 1917 he enlisted at Portland. Mec Aug. 23/17; Pvt 1st cl Mar. 8/18; Pvt Mar. 25/18; Mec Mar. 26/18; Sgt Nov. 5/18. Hon disch on demob: Apr. 22, 1919.³ He became engaged on 6 July 1917 at Montclair, New Jersey, to Miss Frances Lincoln, daughter of Charles M. Lincoln of Montclair.⁴ He appears on the census of 1920 at Washington Street, Bath, Maine, living with his parents; he is employed as a foreman in a shipyard.⁵ He married Marguerite Mongo circa 1924.^6,2 Donald Swanton Sewall and Marguerite Mongo appear on the census of 1930 at Boothby Harbor, Maine, Donald is now a garage proprietor.⁶

     Dora Bernice Sewall was born on 19 August 1897 in Minnesota.^2,1 She was the daughter of Albert P. Sewall and Dora Johanna Belseth.²

     Dorcas Sewall was born on 17 March 1789 in Hallowell, Kennebec, Maine.^1,2 She was the daughter of Stephen Sewall and Abigail Bartlett.¹ Dorcas Sewall died on 23 January 1843 at the age of 53 unmarried.³ She was buried in North Chesterville Cemetery, Farmington, Maine.

     Dorothea Sewall was born on 18 January 1855.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Foster Sewall and Sarah Allyne Rich.¹ Dorothea Sewall is also recorded as Dora May Sewall.^2,3 She married Richard Willets Underhill on 19 April 1888 in 955 Madison Avenue, New York, New York, the residence of the bride's father.⁴ Dorothea Sewall died in June 1891 at the age of 36.¹

     Dorothy Sewall was born on 29 October 1668 in Newbury, Massachusetts.¹ She was the daughter of Rev. Henry Sewall and Jane Dummer. Dorothy Sewall was baptised by Mr. Parker.² She married firstly Capt. Ezekiel Northend, son of Ezekiel Bailey Northend and Edna Halstead, on 10 September 1691 in Rowley.^3,4,5 Dorothy Sewall married secondly Moses Bradstreet, son of Capt. Moses Bradstreet and Elizabeth Harris, on 27 October 1737 he being the father of her son-in-law, Lt. Bradstreet.³ Dorothy Sewall died on 17 June 1752 in Ipswich at the age of 83.³

     Dorothy Sewall is also recorded as Dolly Sewall.¹ She was born on 23 December 1758 in Boston. She was the daughter of Samuel Sewall and Elizabeth Quincy. Dorothy Sewall married Colonel Joseph May, son of Samuel May and Abigail Williams, on 28 December 1784 in Boston, Massachusetts.^2,3 Dorothy Sewall died on 31 October 1825 in Boston at the age of 66.

     Dorothy Sewall was baptised on 21 October 1770 at St. Mary's County, Maryland, Billy Fenwick and Dorothy Boarman were the God-parents.² She was the daughter of Henry Sewall and Mary (Unknown).¹

     Dorothy Clement Sewall was born on 10 June 1823.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Sewall and Dorothy Bartlett.¹ Dorothy Clement Sewall married Hiram Gilman in 1845.¹ Dorothy Clement Sewall died in 1909.¹

     Dorothy Dudley Sewall was born in 1889 in Minnesota.³ She was the daughter of Joseph Sewall Sewall and Ida Christina Peterson.² Dorothy Dudley Sewall died on 18 July 1942 in Ramsey County, Minnesota.⁴

     Dorothy H. Sewall was born in April 1900 in Massachusetts.² She was the daughter of Samuel Farrington Sewall and Luella Frances Clark.^2,1

     Dorothy M. Sewall was born circa 1902 in Massachusetts.¹ She was the daughter of Raymond Thomas Sewall and Edith G. Forristall.¹

     Dorothy Neville Sewall was born on 2 May 1905 in Washington, District of Columbia.² She was the daughter of Harold Ingalls Sewall and Virginia Sims Evans.¹ In 1924 she was a debutante in the London season when her mother gave a dance for her at her home in Lower Sloane Street, London.³ Dorothy Neville Sewall married Edward Poor Montgomery, son of Capt. William Montgomery USN, on 2 October 1926 in the Colony Club, New York.⁴ Dorothy Neville Sewall and Edward Poor Montgomery were divorced.⁵ Dorothy Neville Sewall died on 6 August 1980 in New Milford, Connecticut, at the age of 75.⁵

     Dorothy Sumner Sewall was born on 2 March 1894 in Bath, Maine.² She was the daughter of William Dunning Sewall and Mary Loke Sumner.¹ Dorothy Sumner Sewall married Capt. John K. Jayne USNR on 20 January 1923.³ Dorothy Sumner Sewall died in November 1977 probably in New Canaan, Fairfield, Connecticut, at the age of 83.⁴

     Dr. Douglas Sewall was born on 18 October 1857.² He was the son of Rev. Thomas Sewall and Julia Elizabeth Waters.² Dr. Douglas Sewall graduated in 1876 from Baltimore City College Gross Medical College, Denver, M.D., 1888; physician at Loveland, Colorado.² He died on 14 May 1889 in Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of 31.³

     Duer Irving Sewall was born on 28 July 1882 in Montclair, New Jersey.^2,3,4 He was the son of Charles Joseph Sewall and Anna Brooks Wellman.¹ Duer Irving Sewall married Bertha Guden Adams, daughter of Daniel J. Adams, on 27 October 1910 in All Souls' Church, New York, New York.⁵ Duer Irving Sewall. He was a golf course designer. His designs include Lake Mohawk Golf Club and Champlain Golf Course.⁶

     Duer Irving Sewall was the son of Duer Irving Sewall and Bertha Guden Adams.¹ Duer Irving Sewall died on 3 April 1916 in Bronxville, New York.¹
