Formerly of the 49th Regt. He became Ensign in the 89th Foot 1796, Lieut. 49th 1797, Captain 1799, Major 1800, and Lieut-Col. 1812. He served in America, and received a medal for the action of Chrystler's Farm, 1813.

David Plenderleath

Dr. David Plenderleath

M, b. circa 1788, d. 27 May 1852
     Dr. David Plenderleath was born circa 1788 in Scotland.1 He was the son of Major John Plenderleath and Jennet Smith. Dr. Plenderleath received his early education at the High school of Edinburgh, and in 1802 commenced the study of medicine in London, but completed it at Edinburgh, where he graduated doctor of medicine 24th June, 1807 (D.M.I, de Pneumonia). He began the practice of his profession at Reading, and on the 26 th June, 1815, was admitted a Licentiate of the College of Physicians, shortly after which he established himself in London, but eventually removed to Ramsgate. Dr. Plenderleath was admitted a Fellow of the College of Physicians 6th July, 1844. Dr. David Plenderleath died on 27 May 1852 in Rome1 and was buried on 17 September 1852 in Paddington.1

     Dr. John Plenderleath was born circa 1783. He was the son of Major John Plenderleath and Jennet Smith. Dr. John Plenderleath graduated on 4 June 1808 from St. Andrew's M.D. He died on 18 June 1811 in Coimbra, Portugal, of typhus fever.
His medalion portrait is in the north aisle of Westminster Abbey.

     Major John Plenderleath was born circa 1733.1 He was the son of David Plenderleath. Major John Plenderleath married Jennet Smith, daughter of Chief Justice Hon. William Smith and Jennet Livingston, on 21 October 1771 in New York the licence was issued 19 October in the name of Jennit Smith and John Plenderleath.2,3 Major John Plenderleath died in 1817 in London1 and was buried on 26 August 1817 in Paddington.4

William Henry Temple and Maria May Livingston Sewell, on 30 April 1864 in St. James's, Westminster, London.5,6 Mary Jones "Minnie" Plenderleath died on 18 September 1872 in Québec at the age of 36.3,7 She was buried on 21 September 1872 in Mount Hermon cemetery, Québec.3,7
