     Earl Harris Sewall was born on 11 October 1897 in Massachusetts.³ He was the son of Albert Walter Sewall and Ora Maud Wood.² On 29 June 1916 he entered military service in the US Navy for WW1.⁴ Earl Harris Sewall retired from military service on 29 June 1920; his rank in the 1920 census was that of Water Tender.⁴ He married (unknown) (Unknown) circa 1926.⁵ Earl Harris Sewall and Albert Walter Sewall appear on the census of 1930 at Fitchburg, Worcester, Massachusetts, though Earl is married he is listed alone with his father, he is a travelling salesman in heating sytems, whilst he father is a millwright in a paper mill and describes himself as a widower.⁵ Earl Harris Sewall died on 29 April 1962 in San Diego, California, at the age of 64.³ He was buried on 3 May 1962 in Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, Section X Site 188, San Diego, California.⁴

     Earl Robson Sewall was born on 30 March 1893 probably in San Francisco, California.^1,3 He was the son of David Henry Sewall and Josephine Robson.¹ In 1917 he was a mechanical draftsman working for a sugar refining company.² Earl Robson Sewall married Mary Izett after 7 August 1919 in San Francisco, being the date of the marriage licence.⁴ Earl Robson Sewall died on 8 October 1952 in San Francisco, California, at the age of 59.³

     Edgar Daniel Sewall. An engineer with E.W. Brown, Inc..² He was born on 4 May 1874 in Massachusetts.^1,3 He was the son of Charles Edgar Sewall and Martha E. Kingsley.¹ Edgar Daniel Sewall married Silvia D. (Unknown) circa 1904.⁴ Edgar Daniel Sewall died on 2 May 1952 in Bloomfield, New Jersey, at the age of 77 after a long illness.²

     Edith Brooks Sewall was born on 15 February 1878 in New York, New York, (16 February Sinnett).^1,2 She was the daughter of Charles Joseph Sewall and Anna Brooks Wellman.¹ Edith Brooks Sewall married William Callan on 24 June 1922.³ Edith Brooks Sewall and William Callan appear on the census of 1930 at Bronxville, Westchester County, New York, and their two adopted daughters Barbara and Eleanor. He is listed as a manufacturer of dairy products whilst his wife is the manager of a boarding house.⁴

     Edith Marian Sewall was born on 24 July 1909 in Keene, New Hampshire.² She was the daughter of John Marrett Sewall and Edith May Bridge.¹

     Edmund Devereux Sewall. President of the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul railway.³ He was born on 12 April 1855 in Wilmington, Delaware.^3,4,5 He was the son of Edmund Quincy Sewall and Louisa Kilham Lovett.² Edmund Devereux Sewall married firstly Annie Wilbur Lehman say 1883. Edmund Devereux Sewall married secondly Ida Maria Hoyt, daughter of Dr. Otis Hoyt and Eliza B. King, on 10 October 1888 in New Richmond, Wisconsin.⁶ Edmund Devereux Sewall died on 30 March 1923 in Chicago at the age of 67 of pneumonia.³

     Edmund Quincy Sewall was born on 1 July 1826 in New York City.^3,4 He was the son of Henry Devereaux Sewall and Mary Catherine Norton.² Edmund Quincy Sewall graduated in 1844 from Harvard in the same class as Leverett Saltonstall. He studied at the University of Heidelberg and then engaged in law practice but subsequently turned to business and became a leading manufacturer in Watertown. For 39 years he was organist at Trinity Church, New York and for 26 years a member of the vestry.⁴ He married Katharine Cynthia Smith, daughter of Major Henry Smith and Elvira Foster, on 28 June 1866 in Trinity Church, Monroe, Michigan, the marriage was performed by the Rev. Henry Stafford.⁵ Edmund Quincy Sewall died on 21 August 1892 in Watertown, New York, at the age of 66.³

     Edmund Quincy Sewall. Controller of the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul railroad.² He was born on 29 February 1828 in Newburyport, Essex County, Massachusetts.³ He was the son of Rev. Edmund Quincy Sewall and Caroline Ward.¹ Edmund Quincy Sewall graduated in 1847 from Harvard B.A. and adopted civil and railroad engineering as his profession. He was successively superintendent of the Delaware R.R., superintendent at New Orleans of the N.O.I. and Gr. N.R.R., superintendent of the St. Paul & Pacific R.R., treasurer and later superintendent of the Duluth R.R., and finally comptroller of the C.N. & St. Paul R.R.⁴ He married Louisa Kilham Lovett, daughter of Samuel Porter Lovett and Lucy Chapman, on 27 November 1852 in Beverly, Massachusetts, the marriage being conducted by The Rev. Edmund Quincy Sewall of Cohasset assisted by the Rev. Christopher T. Thayer.^5,6 Edmund Quincy Sewall and his family appear on the census of 1880 at St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota.⁷ He died on 26 September 1908 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, at the age of 80.^4,8

     Edmund Quincy Sewall was the son of George Ward Sewall and Mary F. Cottingham.¹

     Rev. Edmund Quincy Sewall. Unitarian Clergyman. He was born on 1 October 1796 in Marblehead, Massachusetts.² He was the son of Chief Justice Samuel Sewall LL.D. and Abigail Devereaux. Rev. Edmund Quincy Sewall graduated in 1815 from Harvard where he studied divinity under the venerable and excellent Rev. Ezra Ripley, D.D. of Concord, Mass; was ordained at Barnstable 22 December, 1819, and after short ministration there and in Amhara, New Hampshire he was installed as minister of the First Congregational Society in Scituate. This pastorate he was obliged, by ill health, to resign early in the year 1848. A few months afterwards, he removed to Cohasset where his time was occupied in the study of the classics, in teaching young men already somewhat advanced and for a short period in editing the Christian Register. He was long a sufferer from ill health, and in 1838 was compelled to undergo the operation of trepanning, for relief from oppressive pain.³ He married Caroline Ward, daughter of Col. Joseph Ward and Prudence Bird, on 19 July 1820 in Boston, Massachusetts, (Ward gives a date of 23 August 1820).^4,5,6 Rev. Edmund Quincy Sewall and Caroline Ward appear on the census of 1 June 1860 at Cohasset, Massachusetts, together with Prudence Ward aged 64, sister-in-law.⁷ Rev. Edmund Quincy Sewall died on 15 September 1866 in Cohasset, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, at the age of 69.^8,1

     Edna A. Sewall was born in August 1887 in California.¹ She was the daughter of Spencer K. Sewall and Alice Fisher Wiggin.¹

     Edna May Sewall was born on 6 August 1882 in Mobile, Alabama.³ She was the daughter of Francis Lewis Sewall and Alice Marshall Finch.² Edna May Sewall married W.C. Jones.² In 1952 Edna May Sewall was living in Texarkana, Texas.² She died on 29 May 1968 in Leary, Texas, at the age of 85.³ She was buried on 31 May 1968 in Red Lick, Bowie County, Texas.³

     Edward Sewall is also recorded as Oscar Sewall.² He. Shipbuilder.³ He was born on 28 September 1833 in Maine.⁴ He was the son of William Dunning Sewall and Rachel Allen Trufant.¹ Edward Sewall married Sarah Elizabeth Swanton on 2 July 1856 in Bath, Sagadahoc, Maine.⁵ Edward Sewall died on 21 March 1879 in New York City at the age of 45 he apparently suffered an attack of vertigo at the Windsor hotel and fell over a balustrade, shattering a chandelier in his fall of some 20 feet to the floor below.^2,4

     Edward Sewall was born on 5 October 1804.¹ He was the son of David Sewall and Hannah Barrell.¹ Edward Sewall died on 28 May 1823 in Brunswick at the age of 18.

Clifford and Adelaide (Unknown), on 14 September 1918 in Bath, Maine, "they have two children, a boy and a girl."^1,4 Edward Sewall died on 22 June 1981 in Bath, Maine, at the age of 88.⁵

     Edward Bradstreet Sewall was born on 24 September 1801 in Boston.¹ He was the son of Hon. Joseph Sewall and Mary Robie. Edward Bradstreet Sewall died on 12 September 1827 in Brookline, Massachusetts, at the age of 25 (the NEHGS transcription gives a date of 21 September).^2,3

Founder of Sewall Gears of St. Paul.² He was born on 24 January 1892 in St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota.^3,4 He was the son of Joseph Sewall Sewall and Ida Christina Peterson.¹ Edward Bradstreet Sewall married Lorena Reeves, daughter of Henry Halsey Reeves and Mary Ellen (Ella) Johnson, in 1919.¹ Edward Bradstreet Sewall and Lorena Reeves appear on the census of 1930 her widowed mother Mrs. Ella Reeves is living with them.⁵ Edward Bradstreet Sewall died on 30 July 1971 in East Gull Lake, Cass County, Minnesota, at the age of 79.^6,7,8 He was buried in Oakland Cemetery, St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota.⁹

     Edward Bradstreet Sewall was born in 1830.¹ He was the son of Thomas Robie Sewall and Elizabeth Quincy Sewall.¹ Edward Bradstreet Sewall died in 1837.¹

     Edward C. Sewall Jr. was born on 19 April 1923.² He was the son of Edward Sewall and Millicent F. Clifford. Edward C. Sewall Jr. married Helen Marie Richards on 28 October 1950 in Grace Cathedral, San Francisco, California, or 21 October according to her obituary notice.^3,4 Edward C. Sewall Jr. died on 22 July 2005 at the age of 82.⁴

     Edward Dennis Sewall was born on 27 June 1893 in Waltham, Massachusetts.^3,4 He was the son of Benjamin Bowman Sewall and Dulcenia Harris.¹

     Edward Everett Sewall was born on 21 October 1861 in Maine.¹ He was the son of William Harmon Sewall and Lydia Jane Moore.¹ Edward Everett Sewall married Catherine Durr on 3 February 1885.¹

      An orange grower of Redlands, San Bernadino, California.² Edward Houghton Sewall was born on 30 August 1884 in Maine.^2,3 He was the son of Samuel Swanton Sewall and Marcia Houghton.¹ Edward Houghton Sewall died on 28 October 1946 in San Bernadino County, California, at the age of 62.³ He was buried in Hillside Memorial Park, Redlands, San Bernadino County, California.³

     Edward Houghton Sewall Jr. was born on 29 June 1923 in San Bernadino County, California.² He was the son of Edward Houghton Sewall.² Edward Houghton Sewall Jr. died on 22 December 1945 at the age of 22.¹ He was buried in Hillside Memorial Park, Redlands, San Bernadino County, California.¹

     Edward Payson Sewall was born on 14 March 1832.¹ He was the son of Rev. Jotham Sewall and Rachel Crosby Bradbury.¹ Edward Payson Sewall died on 6 April 1882 in Staceyville, Iowa, at the age of 50.² He was buried in Stacyville Cemetery, Stacyville, Mitchell County, Iowa.³

     Edward Perkins Sewall was born on 30 August 1867 in Salem, Massachusetts.² He was the son of Charles Sewall and Margaret Perkins Ives.² Edward Perkins Sewall died on 29 July 1876 in Salem, Massachusetts, at the age of 8.¹

     Capt. Edward Robinson Sewall was born circa 1863 in Maine.² He was the son of Edward Sewall and Sarah Elizabeth Swanton.¹ Capt. Edward Robinson Sewall appears on the census of 1880 at Bath, Maine, where he is described as a sailor.³ He married Susie M. Baker in 1886 in San Francisco, California.⁴ Capt. Dissolute Habits of Arthur Sewall's Nephew Cause Him to Lose His Ship and His Wife.

BOSTON, Jan. 3 — The January session of the divorce court, Judge Blodgett, began this morning. There were forty-three cases on the uncontested docket. Several divorces were granted for desertion. Among these was that of Mrs. Susan Sewall against E. R. Sewall. Mr. Sewall is the nephew of Arthur Sewall, the famous shipbuilder of Bath, Me., and late candidate for Vice-President of the United States.

Mrs. Sewall, whose maiden name was Baker, was married in San Francisco in 1856. Sewall was a shipmaster, and his wife accompanied him for four years on his voyages in different parts of the world. Mrs. Sewall testified that her husband's habits of drinking lost him command of his vessel in 1892. In that year Mrs. Sewall visited her parents in Harwich in this State, and afterward she went with her husband to his home in Bath. They returned to Harwich and soon after Mr. Sewall went away professedly on business. Since that time his wife has seen him but once, and that was at the Adams House in this city in October, 1892. She heard of him in New Jersey and in San Francisco, where he had associations with other women. During this time Mrs. Sewall has lived at 212 Columbus avenue in this city and has supported herself by dressmaking. San Francisco Call, 4 January 1898.⁵

On 9 April 1898 it was reported in the New York Times that Edward R. Sewall, an officer on the steamship El Sud of the Morgan Line, was yesterday arrested on an order signed by Justice Pryor in the Supreme Court. He was afterwards released on bail. He was charged with having alienated the affections of Clara Gertrude, wife of Theodore W. Crowley, who sued him for $50,000 damages.
The Crowleys were married in 1894, and Crowley, who was an officer on the Morgan Line steamers, said that soon after the marriage his wife's conduct toward him became changed. He said that he had many letters written by Sewall to his wife, urging her to leave her husband for him.Crowley had also begun an action for absolute divorce.⁶
Probably he may be the Edward R. Robinson claiming to be a widower who is only 63 years old and the proprietor of a shipbuilding corporation. who appears on the census of 1920 at Brooklyn, New York, he is there living with his niece, one Margaret Collins, a 41 year old born in New York of Irish extraction.⁷

     Edward Upham Sewall was born on 3 March 1841 in Danvers, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.² He was the son of Rev. Charles Chauncy Sewall and Amy Peters.¹ He served as a private in the 42nd Regiment Massachusetts Infantry. Organized at Reedville for 100 days July 22, 1864. Mustered out November 11, 1864.³ Edward Upham Sewall appears on the census of 1880 at Medfield, Massachusetts, listed as a farmer living with his father and three sisters.⁴

     Edward Wailes Sewall was born on 11 February 1815 in Washington County, Alabama.^1,2 He was the son of Lewis Sewall and Elizabeth Howard Wailes.¹ Edward Wailes Sewall married Mariah Susan Chapman.¹ In 1855 an Edward W. Sewall is listed in the United States Official Postal Guide as postmaster of Pine Grove, Pike, Alabama. Edward Wailes Sewall appears on the census of 1860 at Clarke, Alabama, where he is listed as a merchant.² He and Mariah Susan Chapman appear on the census of 1870 at Grove Hill, Clarke County, Alabama, where is is listed as a farmer.³

     Edward Wailes Sewall. Vice president of the firm of Carson, Sewall and Company, wholesale grocers and cotton factors.² He was born on 14 September 1846 in Alabama.^1,3 He was the son of Dr. Francis Lewis Sewall and Sarah Angelica (Ann) Singleton.¹ Edward Wailes Sewall married firstly Sallie Singleton Campbell, daughter of Dr. Farquahard Campbell and Gabriella (Ella) Harriet Singleton, on 10 December 1873 in Walker County, Texas.⁴ Edward Wailes Sewall married secondly Gabriella Harriet (Ella) Campbell, daughter of Dr. Farquahard Campbell and Gabriella (Ella) Harriet Singleton, on 20 May 1880.¹ Edward Wailes Sewall and Gabriella Harriet (Ella) Campbell appear on the census of 16 June 1900 at Houston, Texas.⁵ Edward Wailes Sewall married thirdly Fannie Calhoun after 22 October 1901.¹ Edward Wailes Sewall died on 11 October 1911 in Houston, Texas, at the age of 65. He was found dead in bed by members of his family, death was due to heart failure. The notice of his death states that his widow Mrs. Fannie C. Sewall was in North Carolina visiting friends and that his surving children were Carson Sewall, Cleveland Sewall and a daughter Mrs W.C. Horton.² He was buried in Old Waverly Cemetery, New Waverly, Walker County, Texas.⁶
