     Jane Ropes was born on 22 January 1767.¹ She was the daughter of Judge Nathaniel Ropes and Priscilla Sparhawk.¹ Jane Ropes married Samuel C. Ward on 31 October 1790.¹ Jane Ropes died on 18 January 1803 at the age of 35.¹

     John Ropes was born on 10 January 1763.¹ He was the son of Judge Nathaniel Ropes and Priscilla Sparhawk.¹ John Ropes married firstly Abigail Ropes on 10 June 1784.¹ John Ropes married secondly H. Haraden on 11 December 1787.¹ John Ropes died on 9 July 1828 at the age of 65.¹

     Joseph Ropes. An artist.¹ He was born on 11 November 1812 in Salem, Massachusetts.^2,1 He married Marcia Elizabeth S. Sewall, daughter of William Dunning Sewall and Rachel Allen Trufant, on 12 June 1855 in Bath, Sagadahoc, Maine.³ Joseph Ropes died on 23 March 1890 in Salem, Massachusetts, at the age of 77.¹

     Mary Ropes was born circa 1862 in Italy.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Ropes and Marcia Elizabeth S. Sewall.¹ Mary Ropes appears on the census of 1880 at Bath, Maine, where she is staying with her aunt Alice.¹

     Nathaniel Ropes was born on 13 June 1759.¹ He was the son of Judge Nathaniel Ropes and Priscilla Sparhawk.¹ Nathaniel Ropes married firstly Sarah Putnam on 17 April 1791.² Nathaniel Ropes married secondly Elizabeth Cleveland on 12 April 1803.² Nathaniel Ropes died on 8 August 1806 at the age of 47.¹

     Judge Nathaniel Ropes was born on 20 May 1726.² He graduated in 1745 from Harvard.³ He married Priscilla Sparhawk, daughter of Rev. John Sparhawk and Jane Porter, on 2 September 1755.¹ Judge Nathaniel Ropes died on 18 March 1774 at the age of 47 of smallpox "in the prime of life."⁴ He was representative to the General Court; a member of the Council; Chief Justice of the Common Pleas, and Judge of Probate for the county of Essex; and a Judge of Superior Court of Massachusetts. He was a firm Loyalist. The night before his death, his house was attacked by the multitude, and the windows and furniture were demolished.³

     Samuel Ropes was born in 1773.¹ He was the son of Judge Nathaniel Ropes and Priscilla Sparhawk.¹ Samuel Ropes died on 21 September 1794 at sea; unmarried.¹

     Harriet Paine Rose was born on 5 February 1804 in Antigua.² She was the daughter of Joseph Warner Rose and Harriet Paine.¹ Harriet Paine Rose married John Clarke Lee, son of Nathaniel Cabot Lee and Mary Ann Cabot, on 29 July 1826.¹ Harriet Paine Rose died on 14 August 1885 at the age of 81.¹

     John Rose was born on 25 December 1738.¹ He was the son of Thomas Rose and Ann (Unknown).¹ John Rose married Alice Bacon, daughter of Samuel Bacon and Rebecca Elliott.¹

     Joseph Warner Rose was born on 5 May 1773.¹ He was the son of John Rose and Alice Bacon.¹ Joseph Warner Rose married Harriet Paine, daughter of Dr. William Paine and Lois Orne.¹ Joseph Warner Rose died in 1826.¹

     Thomas Rose married Ann (Unknown).¹

     Elizabeth Rosewell was born in 1679.¹ She was the daughter of William Rosewell and Catherine Russell.² Elizabeth Rosewell married Governor Gurdon Saltonstall, son of Colonel Nathaniel Saltonstall and Elizabeth Ward, before 1702 in Blanford, Connecticut.¹ Elizabeth Rosewell died on 12 September 1710.

     Clarembaud de Rosoy married Elizabeth de Namur, daughter of Godefroi Comte de Namur and Sibylle de Porcien, before 1131.²

     Andrew Guy Ross was born on 12 March 1861 in Toronto.² He. Educated: St. Andrews, Scotland, and Montreal. With the Bank of Montreal, 1877-1890; Manager, National Trust Co., Montreal. 1900-1913; organized Ross & Company, Investment and Real Estate Brokers, Montreal, 1913. Elected member Board of City Commissioners, Montreal, April, 1916. Formerly an officer in the Winnipeg Field Battery; served in the Northwest Rebellion. He married Evelyn St. Lo Durnford, daughter of George Durnford and Melanie Vardon, on 12 October 1895.¹ Andrew Guy Ross died in 1955.¹

     Dr. Colin Sewell Ross was born on 26 November 1921.² He was the son of Dr. James Wells Ross O.B.E. and Gladys Hope Sewell.¹ He was a Captain in the Army, and later on was a Liaison Officer. He served in the Armoured Corps – the 4th Canadian Armoured Division, the South Alberta Regiment. He fought in France, Belgium and Holland. He was mentioned in dispatches in 1944. He returned home in December 1944 to go to the Royal Military College to take the Canadian War Staff course for six months, and qualified for the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.³ Dr. Colin Sewell Ross was living at 29 James Foxway, Toronto, Ontario, in 1996.¹ He died in April 2001 at the age of 79.²

     Donald Charles Trevor Ross was born on 1 November 1859 in Quebec.² He was the son of John Ross and Eliza Janet Sewell.¹ Donald Charles Trevor Ross was baptised on 27 May 1860 at Chapel of the Holy Trinity, Quebec, by E.W. Sewell.² He died on 19 December 1865 in Quebec at the age of 6.³ He was buried on 20 December 1865 in Quebec.³

     Elizabeth Hope Ross was born circa May 1921.¹ She was the daughter of Dr. James Wells Ross O.B.E. and Gladys Hope Sewell.¹ Elizabeth Hope Ross died on 22 April 1923 in Toronto.¹

     Elspeth Ross was born on 24 October 1845.³ She was the daughter of William C. Ross and Elizabeth Theresa Le Leivre.^1,2 Elspeth Ross married firstly Henry Hope Sewell, son of Dr. James Arthur Sewell and Maria Cornelia Westrene Macrae, on 3 March 1868 in Valcartier, Quebec, his occupation is given as "merchant" in the record of the marriage.⁴ Elspeth Ross and Henry Hope Sewell were enumerated in the Census of 1881 in St. Louis Ward, Quebec, Henry Hope Sewell is recorded under his second name of Hope Sewell. No one else is recorded with them.⁵ Elspeth Ross and Henry Hope Sewell appear on the census of 1891 at Quebec City.⁶ Elspeth Ross married secondly Archibald Miller on 28 January 1905 in Boston, Massachusetts.⁷ Elspeth Ross died on 12 April 1929 at the age of 83.³

     Euphemia of Ross was born between 1325 and 1330. She was the daughter of Hugh 4th Earl of Ross and Margaret Graham.² Euphemia of Ross married firstly John Randolph, 3rd Earl of Moray.³ Euphemia of Ross married secondly Robert Stewart, Robert II, King of Scotland, son of Walter Stewart, 6th High Steward of Scotland and Marjory de Bruce, Princess of Scotland, circa May 1355.¹ Euphemia of Ross died in 1387.

     Eva Jane Ross was born on 25 July 1872 in St. Ambroise, Lorette, Quebec.³ She was the daughter of Henry Ross and Henrietta Seit.² Eva Jane Ross married Charles Albert Sewell, son of Dr. James Arthur Sewell and Cornelia Janetta Elizabeth Thierens, on 22 July 1896 in Valcartier at the residence of the bride's father.² Eva Jane Ross died on 22 February 1939 in Quebec City, Quebec, at the age of 66.⁴

     Evelyn Vardon Ross was born in 1902.² She was the daughter of Andrew Guy Ross and Evelyn St. Lo Durnford.² Evelyn Vardon Ross married William James Howard Ellwood, son of Rev. Charles Edward Ellwood.² Evelyn Vardon Ross died in 1955.²

     Frances Eveline Ross later known as Eva Ross.² She was born on 26 October 1848 in Quebec.^1,3 She was the daughter of John Ross and Eliza Janet Sewell.² Frances, having been privately baptised on 13 October 1848, was received into the Church by E.W. Sewell on 20 June 1852.^1,3 Frances Eveline Ross died on 25 August 1912 in Glenfield, St. Foy Road, Quebec, at the age of 63.² She was buried in Mount Hermon Cemetery, Quebec.²

     Harriet Jane Ross was born circa 1852 in Quebec.² She was the daughter of John Ross and Eliza Janet Sewell.¹ Harriet Jane Ross died on 14 July 1900.¹

     Hugh 4th Earl of Ross married secondly Margaret Graham, daughter of Sir David Graham of Montrose.

     Dr. James Wells Ross O.B.E. was born on 9 August 1890 in Toronto, Ontario.¹ He married Gladys Hope Sewell, daughter of Reginald Lambton Sewell and Clara Ann Henderson, in 1915.² In 1917 was served with the 9th Battery, CFA and as a Captain in the Canadian Army Medical Corps in WWI and as a Lt. Colonel in WWII.^3,1 Dr. James Wells Ross O.B.E. was living in 1933.⁴
