     Sarah Titcomb Parsons was born on 13 March 1774 in York, Maine.1 She was the daughter of Josiah Parsons and Sarah Sewall.1 Sarah Titcomb Parsons married Benjamin Walton Randall, son of Rev. Benjamin Wilson Randall and Joanna Oram, on 12 March 1801 in Edgecomb (marriage intention, Edgecomb 12 Dec 1800).3 Sarah Titcomb Parsons died on 8 December 1860 in New Durham, New Hampshire, at the age of 86.3 Sarah's father-in-law was the founder of the Freewill Baptist church. She was reportedly a circuit rider for the church. Her father, Josiah, threw her out of the house when she converted, but later relented and was himself converted along with all of his family.4

     Stephen Parsons was born on 31 October 1777 in York, Maine.1 He was the son of Josiah Parsons and Sarah Sewall.1 Stephen Parsons was baptised on 3 November 1777 at York.2 He married firstly Lucy Knight on 18 July 1799.2 Stephen Parsons married secondly Margaretta Frederica Randall, daughter of Rev. Benjamin Wilson Randall, on 29 October 1801 at New Durham, New Hampshire.2 Stephen Parsons died on 7 April 1862 in Edgecomb at the age of 84.2 Stephen was a farmer and built the first grist and carding mills in Edgecomb; he surveyed and mapped Jeremysquam Island before the appointment of land titles there in 1815; he was the town's first representative to the new Maine legislature after separation from Massachusetts and was responsible for Massachusetts being called a state instead of commonwealth because the shorter word would save writing and printing time and expense.2
