Jeremiah Noyes Sewall was born on 13 October 1808.1 He was the son of James Sewall and Lucy Noyes.1 Jeremiah Noyes Sewall died on 11 April 1884 in Hahnemann Hospital, New York, at the age of 75 he had been ill for some time having had a stroke.
He came to New York in about 1839 and he ultimately became a broker. At one time he had considerable wealth, but he suffered continued losses, and he gradually lost his means. For the past few years he has been employed in the office of the Surveyor of the Port. He was a member of the Union League Club and of the New England Society. He leaves a widow but no children.2 The funeral of Jeremiah Noyes Sewall took place on 14 April 1884 at St. Ann's Episcopal Church, West 18th St., New York.3
