     John Randolph Cony was born on 28 March 1808 in Augusta, Maine.¹ He married Mary Margaret Sewall, daughter of Joseph Sewall and Hannah Shaw, on 2 October 1833 in Farmington, Maine, (The date of 13 October 1833 at Orono or Kennebec, Maine given by Coney and the IGI would appear to be incorrect).^2,3,4 John Randolph Cony died on 11 September 1836 in Old Town, Maine, at the age of 28.²

     Margaret Gay Tingey was born on 27 September 1782 in St. Croix, Virgin Islands.² She was the daughter of Capt. Thomas Tingey U.S.N..² Margaret Gay Tingey married Joseph Ferdinand Wingate, son of Joshua Wingate and Hannah Carr, on 29 November 1808 in Washington, District of Columbia.² Margaret Gay Tingey died on 19 June 1862 in Old Town, Maine, at the age of 79.²

     Sydney Margaret Sewall was born on 25 April 1842 in Maine.^1,3 She was the daughter of Hon. George Popham Sewall and Sydney Ellen Wingate.¹

     Hannah Virginia Sewall was born on 27 July 1846 in Maine.^1,2 She was the daughter of Hon. George Popham Sewall and Sydney Ellen Wingate.¹ Hannah Virginia Sewall died unmarried.¹

     James Bradbury Sewall was born on 14 July 1849 in Maine.¹ He was the son of Hon. George Popham Sewall and Sydney Ellen Wingate.¹ James Bradbury Sewall died on 30 August 1851 at the age of 2.¹

NEW HARBOR - After a long and happy life, Mary Braley Sewall Alden died Dec. 22, 2004 at her home in New Harbor.

She was born in Old Town on June 2, 1913, the daughter of James Wingate Sewall and Louise Belinda Gray Sewall.

She graduated from Old Town High School and spent two years at the University of Maine in Orono before finishing her formal education at Radcliffe College in Cambridge, Mass.

She married Richard Carter Alden of Rumford in 1935. Together they were the parents of three daughters, Susannah A. French of Round Pond, Margaret A. Pfeffer Forbes of New Mexico and Christiana A. Stevens Poole of Newcastle. They had nine grandchildren, Charles, Amy-Louise Richard and Elizabeth Pfeffer, Kirsten, Alexander and Samuel Stevens, Jennifer A. Parlin and Aaron French, and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren and great-grand-children, she is survived by sisters, Margaret Page of Caribou, and Elizabeth Gary of Buzzard's Bay, Mass., and her brother Joseph Sewall of Castine.

Two brothers predeceased her, Daniel Stark Sewall who died in infancy, and George Tingey Sewall of New York City and South Lee, Mass.

The Aldens lived in Michigan and New York State for several years as well as in Maine. In Rochester, N.Y., Mrs. Alden was active in many organizations serving on the boards of the League of Women Voters of

Monroe County and of New York State, the Women's Educational and Industrial Union and the YWCA. She was director of Girls' Work at St. Paul's Episcopal Church and a member of the Altar Guild. Later the Aldens moved to Groveland in the Genesee Valley where she helped her husband manage Belwood a farm where they raised prize Angus cattle.

After Mr. Alden's retirement, the couple moved to Bristol where they both became active in community affairs. Mrs. Alden was a member and former president of the Fortnightly Club of Round Pond, the Willing Worker's of New Harbor, the Lincoln County Union of Women's Clubs and a Life Member of the Corporation of the Lincoln Home. She served six years on the Bristol School Committee and the board of School Union 74. She was active in the Republican Party.

Mrs. Alden was very interested in the social and political history of Maine. Her ancestors came to Maine in the 1600s and dispersed widely throughout the state.

At Mrs. Alden's request there will be no funeral services.

     Margaret Grazebrook Sewall was born on 19 September 1914.² She was the daughter of James Wingate Sewall Jr. and Louise Belinda Gray.¹ In October 1993 Margaret Grazebrook Sewall was living in Caribou, Maine.³ She died on 1 March 2005 probably in Caribou, Maine, at the age of 90.²

     Katherine Moor Sewall was born on 2 October 1887.¹ She was the daughter of James Wingate Sewall and Harriet Sterling Moor.¹

     Harriet Sydney Sewall is also recorded as Sydney Sewall.² She was born on 19 September 1896 in Old Town, Maine.³ She was the daughter of James Wingate Sewall and Harriet Sterling Moor.¹ Harriet Sydney Sewall married Charles LeRoy Whittier, son of LeRoy Francis Whittier and Amy Georgina Ince, on 1 April 1918 in New York City.³ Harriet Sydney Sewall died on 15 July 1974 in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, at the age of 77.²

      Principal of the high school in Bangor, Maine.² David Worcester was born on 13 April 1808 in Hollis, New Hampshire.² He was educated at Harvard but left in the junior year. He married Ellen Shaw Sewall, daughter of Joseph Sewall and Hannah Shaw, on 6 June 1832 in Farmington, Maine.² David Worcester died on 9 May 1893 in Albion, Iowa, at the age of 85 at the home of his daughter, Jessie Garver.^2,3

     Emma Catherine Sewall was born on 29 May 1841.² She was the daughter of Joseph Sewall and Catherine Jones Shaw.² Emma Catherine Sewall died on 24 August 1863 at the age of 22 (1862 shows on the gravestone).²

     Bradford Sewall was born in May 1845 in Maine (Sinnett gives 24 March 1844).^1,2 He was the son of Joseph Sewall and Catherine Jones Shaw.¹ Bradford Sewall appears on the census of 1900 at Farmington, Maine, he is listed as single and is a farmer; no-one else lives at his address.² He died on 8 June 1908 in Farmington, Maine, at the age of 63.¹

     Arthur Shaw Sewall was born on 3 January 1846 in Farmington, Maine, (Sinnett gives 1847).^2,3 He was the son of Joseph Sewall and Catherine Jones Shaw.¹ Arthur Shaw Sewall married Mary E. Carey, daughter of Cornelius Carey and Ellen Kennedy, on 1 January 1883.² Arthur Shaw Sewall died on 8 January 1922 in Dysart, Iowa, at the age of 76.² In 1867 Arthur Sewall decided to move west and settled in Tama County, Iowa where he lived for the rest of his life. For some years Sewall taught in the rural schools of Tama County, after a few years of teaching, he changed his vocation and purchased a drugstore in Dysart. Later he sold the drugstore and purchased a lumberyard in the town. He served as Dysart's postmaster, as a member of the school board, and as mayor of Dysart for several years.³

     Mary E. Carey was born in November 1857 in New York.² She was the daughter of Cornelius Carey and Ellen Kennedy.¹ Mary E. Carey married Arthur Shaw Sewall, son of Joseph Sewall and Catherine Jones Shaw, on 1 January 1883.¹ Mary E. Carey died on 6 January 1914 at the age of 56.¹

     Catherine E. Sewall was born on 27 November 1884 in Dysart, Iowa.¹ She was the daughter of Arthur Shaw Sewall and Mary E. Carey.¹ Catherine E. Sewall married Eugene M. Glines on 19 February 1908.¹

     Eugene M. Glines was born on 21 April 1883 in Appleton, Minnesota.¹ He married Catherine E. Sewall, daughter of Arthur Shaw Sewall and Mary E. Carey, on 19 February 1908.¹

     Frank B. Sewall was born on 21 February 1891 in Dysart, Iowa.^1,2 He was the son of Arthur Shaw Sewall and Mary E. Carey.¹ Frank B. Sewall married Gertrude Casey, daughter of Oscar L. Casey and Margaret Mullen.¹ Frank B. Sewall died on 3 December 1969 probably in Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa, at the age of 78.³ He served in the Navy in World War II.⁴

     Gertrude Casey married Frank B. Sewall, son of Arthur Shaw Sewall and Mary E. Carey.¹ Gertrude Casey was born on 19 May 1891 in Dysart, Iowa.^1,2 She was the daughter of Oscar L. Casey and Margaret Mullen.¹ Gertrude Casey was living in Iowa City on 7 August 1980 when she is mentioned as a survivor in the notice of her brother, Clarence Michael Casey's death.³ She died in March 1987 probably in Iowa at the age of 95.⁴

     Narcissa Sewall was born on 8 October 1795.¹ She was the daughter of Rev. Samuel M. Sewall and Mary Lombard.¹

     Harriet Sewall was born on 14 March 1822.¹ She was the daughter of John Milton Sewall and Dorcas Cushman.¹ Harriet Sewall married Levi Cook on 6 September 1846 in Abington, Massachusetts.²
