A merchant.² He was born on 25 March 1760 in Boston.³ He was the son of Samuel May and Abigail Williams.¹ Colonel Joseph May married Dorothy Sewall, daughter of Samuel Sewall and Elizabeth Quincy, on 28 December 1784 in Boston, Massachusetts.^3,4 Colonel Joseph May died on 27 February 1841 in Boston at the age of 80.³

     Lilian Marie May married Sir William Bagot, Bart. 4th Baron Bagot of Bagot's Bromley on 25 July 1903.²

     Louisa May was born on 31 December 1792 in Boston, Massachusetts.² She was the daughter of Colonel Joseph May and Dorothy Sewall.¹ Louisa May married Deacon Samuel Greele, son of Samuel Greele and Olive Read, on 19 October 1823 in Boston they has a son and a daughter.³ Louisa May died on 14 November 1828 at the age of 35.³

     Samuel May married secondly Abigail Williams.¹ A descendant of John May, Roxbury, 1640.

     Rev. Samuel Joseph May was born on 12 September 1797 in Boston, Massachusetts.² He was the son of Colonel Joseph May and Dorothy Sewall.³ Rev. Samuel Joseph May married Lucretia Flagge Coffin, daughter of Peter Coffin and Anne Martin, on 1 June 1825.² He graduated from Harvard, A.B., 1817, A.M. and B.D., 1820. He was ordained to the Unitarian ministry, March 14, 1822 at Boston, Mass., and became pastor of the First Ecclesiastical Society of Brooklyn, Conn., March 17, 1822. In January, 1823, he established The Liberal Christian, in whose pages he made explicit statements of Unitarian doctrine. He wrote and preached as an advocate of total abstinence and in opposition to slavery as early as 1826; was burned in effigy at Syracuse, N.Y., in 1830, and was mobbed several times at Rutland and Montpelier, Vt., and at Haverhill, Mass. He was a member of the first New England anti-slavery society in 1832, and in 1833 befriended Prudence Crandall. He helped to organize a National Antislavery society in Philadelphia in 1833 and signed the "Declaration of Sentiments." He was general agent of the Massachusetts Anti-slavery society, 1835-53. He was pastor of the Unitarian church at South Scituate, Mass., 1836-42; was principal of the Girls' Normal School, Lexington, Mass., 1842-44; pastor at Syracuse, N.Y., 1845-67, and did missionary work in central New York, 1867-71. He did much to improve the public-school system of Syracuse, and was president of the board of education of that city at the time of his death. He is the author of: Education of the Faculties (1846); Revival of Education (1855); and Recollections of the Anti-Slavery Conflict (1868). G.B. Emerson, Samuel May, and T. J. Mumford edited: Memoir of Samuel Joseph May (1873).² Rev. Samuel Joseph May died on 1 July 1871 in Syracuse, New York, at the age of 73 sometime after 10pm when he was taken very ill.^2,4 He was buried on 6 July 1871 in Oakwood Cemetery.⁵

     Eliza Mayhew was born on 8 April 1824 in Chesterville, Maine.² She married Deacon Calvin Davenport Sewall, son of Deacon Oliver Sewall and Betsey Sylvester, on 1 January 1847 in Chesterville, Franklin County, Maine.³ Eliza Mayhew and Deacon Calvin Davenport Sewall appear on the census of 1 June 1860 at Chesterville, Maine, where his land is valued at $1000 and personal propery at $500.⁴ Eliza Mayhew died on 8 January 1873 in Farmington, Maine, at the age of 48.^5,6

     Mehitable Mayhew married Captain David Holmes, son of Deacon David Holmes and Bathsheba (Unknown), seven children.¹ Mehitable Mayhew died before 1761.¹

     Charles Maynard was born on 3 March 1811.¹ He married Harriet Atwood Fairbanks, daughter of Franklin Fairbanks and Hannah Sewall Cushing, on 1 April 1852.¹ Charles Maynard died on 19 December 1859 at the age of 48.¹

     Mary Frances Maynard was born on 10 April 1853.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Maynard and Harriet Atwood Fairbanks.¹

     John J. McCabe was born circa 1859 in Ohio.¹ He was the son of Prof. Lorenzo Dow McCabe and Harriet Clarke.¹

      Professor of Mathematics and Mechanical Philosophy at Ohio Wesleyan University. Prof. Lorenzo Dow McCabe was born on 7 January 1817 in Marietta, Ohio.¹ He was the son of Robert McCabe and Polly McCracken.¹ Prof. Lorenzo Dow McCabe married, as his first wife, Martha E. Sewall, daughter of Daniel Sewall and Martha Tolman, on 28 July 1845 in Wesley Chapel, Washington, District of Columbia.^1,2 Prof. Lorenzo Dow McCabe married secondly Harriet Clarke in 1857 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.¹ Prof. Lorenzo Dow McCabe died on 18 June 1897 in Delaware, Ohio, at the age of 80.¹ Dr McCabe was one of the most genial, deservedly popular, and influential men in the Methodist Episcopal church and in educational circles. In 1838 he entered the Ohio University, at Athens, and graduated from there in 1843 under Dr. Wm. H. McGuffey ; he immediately joined the Worthington Circuit, and in 1844 was elected Professor of Mathematics of the Ohio University ; in 1845, he was elected to a chair in the Ohio Wesleyan University, at Delaware, and in 1860 was elected Professor of Philosophy in the the same institution; he has been Vice President of the Wesleyan University since 1860, and, during this period, has served five years as President of the institution He received the degree of Doctor of Divinity from Allegheny College in 1885, and Doctor of Laws from Syracuse University in 1875. Besides valuable contributions to church periodicals, Dr McCabe has written several books such as The Philosophy of Holiness, The Foreknowledge of God and Cognate Subjects and the Divine Nescience.¹

     Jennie May McCallum was born between 1888 and 1890 in Canada.^2,3 She married Frederick William Sewell, son of Frederick Henry Sewell and Martha Marig Hudson, in 1908 in Great Falls, Montana.¹ Jennie May McCallum and Frederick William Sewell appear on the census of 1910 at Great Falls, Montana, the census records them as having been married for a year, the baby Fred is at that time still un-named.⁴ Jennie May McCallum and Frederick William Sewell appear on the census of January 1920 at Great Falls, Montana, Frederick William Sewall's occupation is given as sewing machine agent.⁵ She is robably the Jennie May McCallum who died on 25 September 1959 in Yellowstone County, Montana, her home was in Carbon County.⁶

     Margaret McCarl was born in 1894.¹ She married Theodore Paul Wright, son of Phillip Green Wright and Elizabeth Quincy Sewall, in 1918.¹ Margaret McCarl died in 1971.¹

     Charlotte McCarthy married John West 7th Lord, 1st Earl de La Warr on 25 May 1721. Charlotte McCarthy died on 7 February 1735.

     Emily Margaret Pierce McClellan was born in 1866 in Bottesham, Cambridgeshire.¹ She was the daughter of Rev. John Brown McClellan and Emily Elliott Pierce.¹ Emily Margaret Pierce McClellan was christened on 7 October 1866 at Bottesham, Cambridgeshire. She married Theodore Stuart Robert Verschoyle on 27 June 1895 probably in Gloucestershire.²

     Rev. John Brown McClellan. Principal of the Royal Agricultural College of Cirencester.¹ He was born on 7 March 1836 in Glasgow. He was the son of Capt. James Creighton McClellan and Margaret Anne (Unknown). Rev. John Brown McClellan was christened on 10 March 1836 at Gorbals, Lanark, Scotland. He married Emily Elliott Pierce, daughter of James Parker Pierce, on 13 May 1862 in St. Pancras, London, the marriage was performed by the Rev. E.O. Phillips, M.A., vicar of Aberystwith.² Rev. John Brown McClellan appears on the census of 4 April 1881 shows J.B. McClellan as a clergyman at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester with his family.³ He died on 24 April 1916 in Kew, London, at the age of 80.

     John William Tindale McClellan. Of the East African Protectorate (Kenya).³ He was born on 3 May 1865? In Bottisham, Cambridgeshire. He was the son of Rev. John Brown McClellan.² John William Tindale McClellan was christened on 7 May 1865 at Bottesham, Cambridgeshire. He married Edith Doyle Sewell, daughter of Rev. Henry Doyle Sewell M.A. and Edith Pierce Morgan, on 4 January 1908 in Holy Trinity Church, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, the Rev. D.J. Stather Hunt officiated, assisted by the Rev. J.B. McClellan, the bride's father.³ John William Tindale McClellan died on 20 November 1948 at the age of 83.

     Mary Creighton McClellan was born on 15 January 1869 in Bottesham, Cambridgeshire.^1,2 She was the daughter of Rev. John Brown McClellan and Emily Elliott Pierce.¹ Mary Creighton McClellan was christened on 3 April 1869 at Bottesham, Cambridgeshire. She married Sir Basil Shillito Cave K.C.M.G., C.B., son of Thomas Cave, on 19 February 1892 at the British Consulate and afterwards at the Cathedral in Zanzibar.³ Mary Creighton McClellan died on 14 January 1956 in at the home of her daughter, Iwerne Minster, Dorset, at the age of 86.²

     Stephen St. George McClellan was born on 23 April 1909. He was the son of John William Tindale McClellan and Edith Doyle Sewell. Stephen St. George McClellan died on 30 December 1938 in Switzerland at the age of 29 on the Matterhorn, in an avalanche.¹

     Rachel Loring McCobb was born on 24 June 1774.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel McCobb and Rachel Denny.¹ Rachel Loring McCobb married Joseph Payson Trott, son of Benjamin Trott and Mehitable Sewall, on 18 August 1796 in Georgetown.¹
