Hon. Nathaniel Barrell1

M, b. 2 August 1732, d. 4 April 1831
      Nathaniel served as a lieutenant in Gen Wolfe's army at the taking of Quebec in 1759. In 1763 he became a member of the Governor's Council in NH, in 1794 was a representative to the MA General Court. His considerable wealth enabled him to be a "gentleman farmer," his father being an opulent merchant and shipbuilder.1 Hon. Nathaniel Barrell was born on 2 August 1732 in Boston, Massachusetts.1 He married Sarah/Sally Sayward on 23 November 1758 in 1st Parish, York.1 Hon. Nathaniel Barrell died on 4 April 1831 in York, Maine, at the age of 98.1

     Hannah Barrell was born on 28 January 1774 in York, Maine.1 She was the daughter of Hon. Nathaniel Barrell and Sarah/Sally Sayward.1 Hannah Barrell married David Sewall, son of Capt. Moses Sewall and Miriam Stone, on 7 September 1793 in First Parish Church, York, Maine, Married by the Rev. Mr. Isaac Lyman.1,2 Hannah Barrell was buried in Hillside Cemetery, Plattville, Grant County, Wisconsin.3 She died on 22 August 1853 in Plattville, Wisconsin, at the age of 79 (Maine Families gives a date of 20 August 1853). The notice of death states that she died in the residence of her son-in-law Ben C. Eastman.1,4

In 1655 removed to Boston.4 He married Mary Chilton, daughter of James Chilton and (unknown) (Unknown), between July 1623 and 22 May 1627 in Plymouth, Massachusetts.4,2,3 John Winslow was living on 21 September 1669 John Winslow deposes that he heard his late son-in-law, Tobias Paine, declare it to be his last Will, that he gives all to his wife, and little son. Wife Sarah and son William.1 He died before 21 May 1674 in Boston, Massachusetts.4,3 He was buried in King's Chapel Burying Grounds, Boston, Massachusetts.3

The ship had arrived at Cape Cod about three weeks previously.2
