      Nathaniel served as a lieutenant in Gen Wolfe's army at the taking of Quebec in 1759. In 1763 he became a member of the Governor's Council in NH, in 1794 was a representative to the MA General Court. His considerable wealth enabled him to be a "gentleman farmer," his father being an opulent merchant and shipbuilder.¹ Hon. Nathaniel Barrell was born on 2 August 1732 in Boston, Massachusetts.¹ He married Sarah/Sally Sayward on 23 November 1758 in 1st Parish, York.¹ Hon. Nathaniel Barrell died on 4 April 1831 in York, Maine, at the age of 98.¹

     Hannah Barrell was born on 28 January 1774 in York, Maine.¹ She was the daughter of Hon. Nathaniel Barrell and Sarah/Sally Sayward.¹ Hannah Barrell married David Sewall, son of Capt. Moses Sewall and Miriam Stone, on 7 September 1793 in First Parish Church, York, Maine, Married by the Rev. Mr. Isaac Lyman.^1,2 Hannah Barrell was buried in Hillside Cemetery, Plattville, Grant County, Wisconsin.³ She died on 22 August 1853 in Plattville, Wisconsin, at the age of 79 (Maine Families gives a date of 20 August 1853). The notice of death states that she died in the residence of her son-in-law Ben C. Eastman.^1,4

     Martha Salisbury married Nicholas Salisbury, son of Nicholas Salisbury.¹

     Rebecca Salisbury was born in 1776.¹ She was the daughter of Deacon Samuel S. Salisbury and Elizabeth Sewall.¹ Rebecca Salisbury married Jonathan Phillips in 1805.¹

     Elizabeth Cotton was born in 1637.¹ She was the daughter of Rev. John Cotton and Sarah Hankredge.¹ Elizabeth Cotton married Jeremiah Eggington on 12 October 1655.¹

     Jeremiah Eggington married Elizabeth Cotton, daughter of Rev. John Cotton and Sarah Hankredge, on 12 October 1655.¹ Jeremiah Eggington died on 31 August 1656 possibly as a result of childbirth.¹

     Sarah Cotton was born in 1635.¹ She was the daughter of Rev. John Cotton and Sarah Hankredge.¹

     Rowland Cotton was born in 1643.¹ He was the son of Rev. John Cotton and Sarah Hankredge.¹

     Susanna Salter married Josiah Cotton, son of Rev. Roland Cotton and Elizabeth Saltonstall, in 1734.¹

     Thomas Cotton was born in 1736.¹ He was the son of Josiah Cotton and Susanna Salter.¹

     John Winslow was born on 16 April 1597 in Droitwich, Worcestershire.³ He was baptised on 18 April 1597 at Droitwich, Worcestershire.² He was the son of Edward Winslow and Magdalen Oliver.² John Winslow came 1621 came to Plymouth on the Fortune. In 1655 removed to Boston.⁴ He married Mary Chilton, daughter of James Chilton and (unknown) (Unknown), between July 1623 and 22 May 1627 in Plymouth, Massachusetts.^4,2,3 John Winslow was living on 21 September 1669 John Winslow deposes that he heard his late son-in-law, Tobias Paine, declare it to be his last Will, that he gives all to his wife, and little son. Wife Sarah and son William.¹ He died before 21 May 1674 in Boston, Massachusetts.^4,3 He was buried in King's Chapel Burying Grounds, Boston, Massachusetts.³

     Miles Standish was born say 1629.² He was the son of Miles Standish and Barbara (Unknown).² Miles Standish married Sarah Winslow, daughter of John Winslow and Mary Chilton, on 19 July 1660 in Boston they had no children.^1,3,4 Miles Standish died after July 1660 having disappeared at sea.⁴

      A merchant in Boston.³ Richard Middlecott was born circa 1640 in Warminster, Wiltshire.^4,3 He was the son of Edward Middlecott and Mary (Unknown).² Richard Middlecott married Sarah Winslow, daughter of John Winslow and Mary Chilton, in 1672 in Boston.^2,5 Richard Middlecott died on 13 June 1704 in Boston, Massachusetts.⁴

     Mary Chilton was baptised on 31 May 1607 at St. Peter's, Sandwich, Kent, (the date of 30 May given in most secondary sources is apparently erroneous).³ She was the daughter of James Chilton and (unknown) (Unknown).^2,3 A longstanding tradition has held that Mary Chilton was the first of the Mayflower passengers to step ashore on Plymouth Rock in 1620, others say that she was the first European woman to do so.³ Mary Chilton married John Winslow, son of Edward Winslow and Magdalen Oliver, between July 1623 and 22 May 1627 in Plymouth, Massachusetts.^1,2,4 Mary Chilton died before 1 May 1679 in Boston.²

     Edward Winslow was the son of Kenelm Winslow.² Edward Winslow married firstly Eleanor Pelham.³ Edward Winslow married secondly Magdalen Oliver on 4 November 1594 in St. Bride's, London.³ Edward Winslow died before 1631.⁴

     James Chilton was born circa 1556 possibly in Canterbury (probably), Kent.^2,3 He was the son of Lionel Chilton.² This unknown person married (unknown) (Unknown) before 1586 (possibly Susanna Furner, daughter of his step-mother).^2,3 James Chilton died on 8 December 1620 in Cape Cod Harbour aboard the Mayflower. The ship had arrived at Cape Cod about three weeks previously.²

     (unknown) (Unknown) married James Chilton, son of Lionel Chilton, before 1586 (possibly Susanna Furner, daughter of his step-mother).^1,2 (unknown) (Unknown) died in 1621 in Plymouth early in the year.¹ John Hunt's suggestion in The American Genealogist 38:244-245 that his wife was possibly Susanna Furner has been recently disproven on the basis of the discovery of Susanna Furner's baptism record, which indicates she was far too young (only 12) to be married and having children in 1586.

     Miles Standish was born circa 1584 possibly on the Isle of Man.² He married firstly Rose (Unknown) in England.² In 1620 arrived in New England on the Mayflower. Miles Standish married secondly Barbara (Unknown) by 1624.¹ Miles Standish died on 3 October 1656 in Duxbury.²

     Barbara (Unknown) was born circa 1593.¹ She married Miles Standish by 1624.¹

     Joseph Harrod married Anna Treat.¹

     Susan Maria Clark was born on 2 March 1818 in Adams Mansion, Adam Street, Quincy. She was the daughter of Lt. Charles Thomas Clark U.S.N. and Susanna Boylston Adams.¹
