John Grazebrook1

M
John Grazebrook was the son of John Grazebrook (Junior) of Stoke Hall and Isabel (Unknown).1 This John, though the eldest son, is not mentioned in his father's will of 1540 though he is co-executor of his mother's will. Star Chamber proceedings arose in 1552 because his mother had granted him a lease in contradiction of his father's will. His brother Alvery turned him out with violence. His name disappears from records after 1547. The catalogue entry STAC 2/18/211 at the National Archives indicates that the proceedings in fact cover the period 22 April 1509-28 January 1547.1,2
