     Judge Levi Whitney Goodrich was born on 31 May 1836 in Amherst, Loraine County, Ohio.¹ He married Alice Battle on 11 February 1869 probably in Waco, Texas.^1,2 Judge Levi Whitney Goodrich died on 29 July 1911 in Marlin, Texas, at the age of 75.¹ Levi W. Goodrich, son of Noah Whitney and Abby (Porter) Goodrich, was born in Amherst, Lorain County, Ohio, May 31,1836, and died in Marlin, Texas, July 29,1911. In 1845, his parents removed to Pittsfield, Mass., where he prepared for college. He entered the University in 1854, remaining until November, 1855.
He engaged in engineering work in Chicago, Ill. from May, 1856-1857; in Wisconsin, 1857-58; Illinois, 1858-59. In 1859, he located in Brown County, Texas, where he taught school until 1860; was district surveyor of Brown, Coleman and McCullough counties, 1860-61.
On the breaking out of the Civil War, he enlisted in the " McCullough'' regiment, and took part in the capture of the military posts on the Texas frontier in February, 1861. Soon after, this regiment was re-organized with Ben McCullough as colonel. Lieut. Goodrich was appointed adjutant of the Regiment, and served on the frontier of New Mexico until 1863, when he was commissioned captain Co. G, 30th Texas Cavalry. He commanded this company until the close of the war, taking part in many engagements in Texas, Arkansas and Indian Territory. He taught school in Robinsonville, McLennan County, 1865-66, at the same time studying law. He was admitted to the bar in Waco in May, 1866, and practiced his profession in McLennan and Falls counties for many years. He was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Texas in 1871, and before the Supreme Court of the United States in 1875. He was judge of the Nineteenth Judicial District, Texas, 1890-97.
He was married February 11, 1869, to Alice Battle of Waco, Tex. Ten children have been born to them: Frank Battle, born January 8, 1870, a civil engineer, died Marlin, Tex., May 17, 1902; Abby, born December 23, 1871, married Mr. R. B. Dickey, resides in Dallas, Tex; Nicholas Whitney, born March 6, 1878, resides in Marlin, Tex; Lee, born January 26, 1874, died June 6, 1875; Horace Porter, born December 23,1875, died June 12, 1877; Maria, born November 5, 1880, married Mr. B. C. Nettles, resides in Marlin, Tex; Mary, born March 20, 18S3, married Dr. F. B. Sewall, resides in Marlin, Tex; Alice, born September 15, 1885, married Mr. J. B. McNamara, resides in Waco, Tex; Levi, born January 15, 1888, resides in Ardmore, Okla; Thomas, born September 11, 1891, resides in Marlin, Texas.

     Mary Lee Goodrich was born on 20 March 1883 in Marlin, Texas.⁴ She was the daughter of Judge Levi Whitney Goodrich and Alice Battle.^2,3 Mary Lee Goodrich married Dr. Francis Bates Sewall, son of Krouse Sewall and Frances Ann Bates, on 6 June 1906 in Marlin, Texas.^1,2 Mary Lee Goodrich died on 10 May 1929 in Falls County, Texas, at the age of 46.⁵ She was buried on 11 May 1929 in Calvary Cemetery, Marlin, Falls County, Texas.^6,7

     Warren Osgood Goodrich was born in 1907.¹ He married Martha Rosamund Wood, daughter of Ross Garfield Wood and Grace L. Davis.¹ Warren Osgood Goodrich died in 1935.¹

     Ann Violetta Goodrick was born in St. Mary's County, Maryland.¹ She married Charles Sewall, son of Charles Sewall and Eleanor Brooke, between 19 April 1746 and 19 November 1754 in St. Mary's County, Maryland.¹

     Sarah L. Goodwin was born on 25 July 1818.¹ She married Joseph Lambard Sewall, son of Rev. Samuel M. Sewall and Mary Lambard, on 12 September 1837.¹ Sarah L. Goodwin and Joseph Lambard Sewall appear on the census of 1850 in Rockport, Essex County, Massachusetts, with their children. He is listed as an engineer.² Sarah L. Goodwin died on 8 November 1852 at the age of 34.¹

     Mary Goodyear was born in England.³ She was the daughter of Stephen Goodyear.² Mary Goodyear married Capt. Thomas Lake, son of Richard Lake and Anne Morelly, circa 1648 possibly in New Haven they had 11 children.⁴ Mary Goodyear died in September 1705. She was buried on 8 September 1705 in Copp's Hill Burying Ground, Boston.³

He had been deputy, speaker, assistant, and superintendent of Indian affairs, he visted England twice and on his last return had the regicides Goffe and Whalley under his protection. He is the author of Historical Collections of the Indians of Massachusetts, published posthumously, 1792.^6,7 Hon. Daniel Gookin married secondly Mary Dolling after 11 November 1639 which was the date of the licence to marry at St. Sepulchre's, London. Daniel Gookin is described in the licence as a gentleman and a widower, there is no trace of his earlier marriage.^8,9,10 Hon. Daniel Gookin and Mary Dolling set sail in 1641 for Virginia.⁹ Hon. Daniel Gookin married as his second or third wife Hannah Tyng, daughter of Hon. Edward Tyng and Mary Sears, before 10 April 1685 at Cambridge, Massachusetts.¹¹ Hon. Daniel Gookin died on 19 March 1686/87 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, "Satterday, about 5. or 6. in the morn, Major Daniel Gookin dies, a right good Man."^6,12 He was buried on 22 March 1686/87 in the burying ground of the First Church, opposite the gate to Harvard College.^7,13,14

     Rev. Daniel Gookin Jr. was born on 12 July 1650 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.² He was the son of Hon. Daniel Gookin and Mary Dolling.² Rev. Daniel Gookin Jr. graduated in 1669 from Harvard.¹ Between 1673 and 1681 he was a Resident and tutor at Harvard College.³ He married as his first wife Elizabeth Quincy, daughter of Colonel Edmund Eliot Quincy and Joanna Hoar, in 1681 at Cambridge or Sherborn.^1,3,4 Rev. Daniel Gookin Jr. was ordained on 26 March 1685 at Sherborn, Massachusetts, by Judge Sewall.^2,5 He married secondly Bethiah Collicut, daughter of Edward Collicut and Thomazin (Unknown), on 21 July 1692 at Sherborn.^6,4 Rev. Daniel Gookin Jr. died on 8 January 1717/18 in Sherborn at the age of 67.²

Daniel Gookin Jr. and (unknown) (Unknown).¹ Edmund Gookin married Sarah Thompson, daughter of Benjamin Thompson and Susanna Kirtland, on 27 October 1715 recorded elsewhere the wife is said to be Sarah Tucker.³ Edmund Gookin died in 1740.⁴
