Anthony Duane1

He came to America in 1700 as Paymaster in the British Navy. He resigned from the navy and settled in N.Y. In 1741 he purchased a large tract of land in what is now the town of Duanesburg, near Schenectady.1 Anthony Duane was born in 1682 in County Galway, Ireland.1 He married firstly Eve Benson, daughter of Dirk Benson, in 1717 in New York.1 Anthony Duane married secondly Altea Keteltas, daughter of Abraham Keteltas and Anneke Coerten, on 27 May 1730.1 Anthony Duane died on 14 August 1747.1
